Full ride support:
Our ride support crew starts with our lead rider. This passionate Balinese rider knows the roads and traffic conditions inside out. His number one priority is your safety. He will guide you smoothly around the course and home again. We back him up with a motorbike guide up front, the driver is a cycling specialist and knows how to handle himself around a peloton. He will stop traffic to give you priority passage at intersections and communicate to and between riders. Following is a support van full of cold drinks, snacks, and spare parts as well as anything you don’t want to cycle with.
It’s like being on a professional cycling team for a week:
The van also contains your change of shoes and anything else you might want for when you slip out of the cleats to visit the temples, markets or just enjoy a coffee. Finally, you have media support, a professional sports photographer who will snap you as you go, share images, and provide footage of the day ready for you to upload to social media, along with your Strava results at the end of the day.
Our aim is to showcase the best of Bali, in different lights; scenery in the morning on stunning 3-4 hour rides, local activities in the afternoon and relaxing in the evenings with local fare and a refreshing beverage or two.
We have carefully selected a range of activities for you to share with your partner, such as a Balinese blessing, couples massage, cooking class, and more…
Our package includes everything except flights, spending money, and alcohol.
We have breakfast and lunch in the villa, meaning the food is guaranteed fresh and organic wherever possible. We can also cater to any meal requirements you may have. Dinner is at a local restaurant, giving you the chance to experience the different flavours and atmosphere of Bali’s amazing social life.
Feb 11: Arrive, unpack your bikes and choose between putting them together yourself, or having our ground support team do it for you while you relax in the pool.
Feb 12: Stretch your legs and become acclimatised to riding in Bali with a 60km ride through the rice fields surrounding Ubud. Return home for a post-ride massage, lunch, then take part in a traditional Balinese Blessing where the local village Mangku will symbolically clean your soul and purify your body in the ancient Melukat ceremony (this will be subject to availability at the time you book your cycling tour).
Feb 13: Today we will have a slightly longer 80km ride through villages surrounding Ubud, where you will be able to see the traditional way of life that can’t be seen from the back of a car on the main roads. We will then return home for lunch and a post-ride massage and a relaxing afternoon. You can choose to stay at the villa and relax, or go into Ubud to visit the Sacred Monkey Forest, Ubud Market, and more. In the evening we will take in a traditional Cecak Dance.
Feb 14: Valentine’s Day, a day to connect with your loved one on a deeper level. From Ubud we will take a gentle ride to the purifying waters of Tirta Empul, where you can enjoy the traditional cleansing powers of the Bali’s most sacred temple. We will then ride on to visit a coffee plantation, where you can sample some of Bali’s best tea’s and coffee’s, and also taste the world-famous Luwak Coffee. In the afternoon, you will experience a Couple’s Massage at one of Ubud’s top day spa’s, before a romantic dinner for two in Ubud.
Feb 15: Depending on the group, we have two ride options for the final day, both approximately 80km. One is a flatter ride to the east of Bali and back, taking in stunning views of nature not normally seen by tourists. Or, if the group is feeling strong and up for a challenge, we will ride to the summit of Mt Kintamani! From here we can see Mt Batur, the location for tomorrow’s sunrise hike. In the evening, we will take a Balinese cooking class, where you will learn how to make Balinese food, before sitting down to enjoy the fruits of your labour.
Feb 16: Swapping the bike for legs, we will wake up early (about 3am!) to travel by car to Mt Batur for a sunrise hike, arguably one of the most romantic experiences in the world. After reaching the summit and taking n the spectacular sunrise, we will make our descent, and jump straight into the hot pools to relax any tired muscles. After returning home for a nap and lunch, we will visit a silver making class, where you can make a piece of jewellery for yourself or a loved one.
Feb 17: It’s time to go home, but what’s the rush? With our worlds-latest check out, if you have an evening flight out of Bali, you can spend the day sightseeing then come home to rest, shower, and change before being taken to the airport.
Price: Total cost is $4400AUD per couple, inclusive of GST (price does not include flights)
